On Monday evening (May 19) in Soi Koh Kaew 1 they arrested Thanawat “Jay” Jindapol, 21, in possession of 280 meth pills and 328.02 grams – almost a third of a kilo – of ice.

They also took from him a home-made 0.38 pistol with 10 bullet. He was charged with possession of narcotics with intent to sell and with unlicensed possession of a firearm and ammunition.

Acting on information they obtained from questioning Thanawat, police on Tuesday (May 20) arrested a friend of his, Akkaradech Janewanich, 24, when they found him holding 18 meth pills and 76.43 grams of ice. He was charged with possession with intent to sell.

Although the amounts seized are nothing like the 100 kilos of ice seized in Chiang Rai a couple of days ago, they are significant for Phuket, which is at the end of the supply line.
