Turkish Fist Fight Ends in Stabbing

A fist fight between 2 Turkish men ended up in one of them stabbing the other. The incident happened in south Pattaya .

PATTAYA – March 26, 2014[Pattaya Daily News]: Pol.Col.Thanasit Kanleum, vice suppression inspector of Pattaya police station was informed that there was a foreigner who had been stabbed with a knife in front of Sultal Mini Mart, number 27/24, opposite the security guard box, south Pattaya, crossed with second road, moo 10, Nongprue, Nongprue, Banglamung. The police and rescuers rushed to the scene.

At the scene the police found a Mr.Cihan Cakmak, 31 years old from Turkey sitting on the floor who had suffered 2 stab wounds to his left collarbone and armpit. While the rescuer were performing first aid the victim shouted in Arabic and ran over and kicked Mr.Semih, Mr.Semih then ran away but was caught by the police and sent to the police station. The victim was sent to Pattaya Memorial hospital.

Upon questioning Mr.Semih said that Mr.Cihan , the victim was the owner of an ice cream shop and was his best friend . They had opened the shop together several months ago, but recently Mr Semih had opened another shop with his Thai wife, in Suan Chang, “Siamese Elephant”, Ban Kating Lai, Nongplalai, Banglamung, which made Mr.Cihan angry because he said that Mr Semih had stolen a freezer.

Mr.Cihan made an appointment with Mr Semih to sort out the problems between them. They drank beer whilst talking but they ended up fighting which lead to the stabbing.

The police took Mr.Semih to prosecuted the stabbing and would question more of the witnesses to find the real cause of the incident.
