Truck driver electrocuted to death

A driver of truck who was transporting sugarcane climbed onto the back of his truck to lift up some electrical lines but as he leaned over he slipped and fell onto the electric lines electrocuting him to death which caused a fire burning him and his truck.

CHONBURI – January 23, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 12.10 p.m. Pol. Capt. Phongsakorn Phanphon (police on duty of Bor Thong police station, Chonburi province) was notified that there was an accident involving sugarcane truck where the driver had been electrocuted to death causing a fire which nearly destroyed whole truck so the police rushed to inspect at scene together with the rescuers of Sawang Hate Tharmmasatharn foundation of Amphur Bor Thong.

The incident occurred on the road of Khlong Ta Pech – Bor Thong route, Ban Khlong Ta Pech Bon, Moo 2 Tambon Bor Thong, the officers found that the fire was burning the white Heno truck, license number 83-1954 Chonburi that was loaded with sugarcane and on the truck was the corpse of the truck driver a Mr. Thitiphat Aroochlertphaisarn, aged 64, address 43 Moo 7 Tambon Bor Thong. His head was leaning against the high voltage electric line and had been scorched. Therefore, the officers informed the Provincial Electricity Authority of Amphur Bor Thong to cut the electricity so they could get Mr. Thitiphat body out of the truck.

From investigating the eyewitnesses, the police perceived that before incident occurred Mr. Thitiphat (the dead victim) drove his truck from the sugarcane field at Ban Khlong Ta Pech in order to deliver it to Rayong sugar factory which is located at Moo 6 Tambon Thartthong, Amphur Bor Thong and when he arrived at the incident point he found that the electric lines were leaning over the road so he couldn’t pass by so he climbed on top of the sugarcane pile at the back of the truck in order to move up the electric line and the telephone line but suddenly he slipped and fell and his head hit the electric lines electrocuting him to death causing a fire destroying his truck. Initially, the officers sent the corpse to Bor Thong hospital to perform an autopsy then they will give the corpse to his relatives in order to perform religious rites.
