Truck Crashes Into Minibus In Pattaya

A truck that was being driven lost control and crashed into a mini bus carrying Russian passengers. Most of the passengers were injured and sent to hospital.

PATTAYA – December 1,2014 [Pattaya Daily News] at 23.00 pm Pol.Lt.Col.Anuchet Kardsomboon-inspector of Pattaya police station- was notified that there was a car accident and there were many injured at Chaiyapruek crossroads. After notification the police officers went to inspect the scene with the Sawang Borriboon rescue team.

At the scene they found a lot of injured people and most of them were Russian and some Thai. One of the Russian tourists had suffered a torn leg and the other passengers had suffered from minor injuries. The injured were sent to hospital, 4 to the Pattaya Memorial hospital, 8 to the Bangkok-Pattaya hospital and another person was sent to Bang Lamung hospital. Upon inspecting the scene they found long skid marks from a Chevrolet truck on the road. Also a minibus that had collided with a motorcycle and a 3 wheeler motorcycle. Plus there were another 2 cars which were damaged from the incident, while the Chevrolet driver had fled the scene.

 

Upon questioning MR.Pichai Kwanmuang the 56 year old minibus driver he said that he had picked up the Russian tourists and was taking them back to the Ambassador hotel. When he stopped at the crossroads the truck crashed into him causing him to hit the other cars and motorcycles. Upon questioning the witnesses they said that the truck was being driven dangerously at speed.

However the police officers inspected the scene and recorded the incident and are now hunting the pick – up driver to be prosecute according to Thai law.
