Tropical Storm Vamco Damages Pattaya

The tropical storm Vamco which hit Pattaya has caused a lot of damage in some areas and major traffic congestion.

PATTAYA – September 17,2015 [PattayaDailyNews]; at 08.30 am reporters reported that the Vamco tropical storm which hit Thailand had caused severe flooding and damage to Pattaya. Also 20 people had been trapped in their houses included Mrs.Surin Petkaew aged 72 and her baby niece who had to be rescued by boat.

Mrs.Surin said that she was in her house with her baby niece when the flood hit. The flood water quickly rose so she put the baby into a basket and waited in the flood water for 3 hours until they were rescued.

In addition the 331 road had been cut off by a flash flood which caused major traffic congestion.

Mr.Chakorn Kanchanawatta- chief district of bang Lamung said that the tropical storm had caused a lot of damage to Pattaya but luckily nobody had be killed.
