Triathlon Comes To Town

Pattaya city cooperated with the Thailand Tri-League, the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) and Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) to arrange the “Pattaya Triathlon Tour Series 2015 By Thailand Tri-League”.

PATTAYA – October 17th  2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; in front of Hard Rock Hotel, Pattaya beach road, Chon Buri province the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) and Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) had  arranged the  “Pattaya Triathlon Tour Series 2015 By Thailand Tri-League” in order to develop  sport in Thailand. There were over 200 Triathletes from all-over the  world and over 1,000 Thai’s.


The Triathlon competition under the name of “Thailand League”  takes place  4 times a  year  where the athletes gain points for an overall placing.  The Pattaya  triathlon is the 3rd in the series. The standard event is  (men – women)  swim 1.5 km, cycle  42 km, run 10 km. The next event down is a  swim of 750 meters,  cycle  20 km, and run 5 km. The team event men and women combined is  a  5 km run, 42 km bike and a 10 km run.


There was a 600,000 THB prize for male and female world triathlon winners and 50,000 THB cash for standard winners.  There were over 1,000 sportsmen and women who joined in with this competition including famous sportsmen such as the former world champion of Ironman Chris Mccomack from Austrailia, the champion of Tri-League for the 1st and 2nd sport fields Fredrik Croneborg from Sweden, former world champion of ITY Duathlon Paul Amy Duathlon and also a lot of Thai national sportsmen and women.
