Even as crowds of passengers still queued to buy tickets at ticket booths, Mr. Wutthichart affirmed that all intending passengers will eventually arrive at their respective destinations by company’s buses.

He added that travellers started leaving Bangkok December 26, so the numbers of passengers on buses now is not as crowded. On Tuesday night alone, the company recorded some 230,000 passengers using bus services, the biggest number since last Friday.
However, last group of passengers could get their buses by midnight.

On New Year’s Eve, December 31, Mr. Wutthichart said that the company had readied buses for 5,000 trips in 24 hours and there would not be any passengers left behind for sure.

The number of passengers was lower relative to last year, he noted, mainly due to lower fuel prices so that many people opted to use their own vehicles or hired vans for group travel. (TNA)
