Transnational Weapons Dealers Arrested

The police of Section 2 Provincial Police Station have arrested a well known transnational gang that sold weapons in the eastern region of Thailand.

CHONBURI – May 26,2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; Pol.Lt.Gen. Thanet Phinmueang-ngarm (Commander of Provincial Police, Section 2), Pol.Maj.Gen. Suraphon Wiratyosin (Deputy Commissioner of Provincial Police, Section 2), Pol.Maj.Gen. Kittiphong Ngao-mook (Deputy Commissioner of Provincial Police, Section 2), Pol.Maj.Gen. Chettha Komonwatthana (Investigation Commander), Pol.Maj.Gen. Yingyos Thepjamnong (Commander of Sa Kaew Provincial Police Station) and Pol.Maj.Gen. Weerachai Wisutthiuthaikul (Commander of Prachin Buri Provincial Police Station) together made a statement about the arrest of a transnational gang who sold guns and narcotics. The gang was well-known and was called “Hia Khamain Group”.


The police had arrested 2 right-hand men of Hia Khamain gang at a house no. 243 Moo 1 Tambon Thap Sadej, Amphur Ta Phra-ya, Sa Kaew province, which consisted of Mr. Somkid or Yao Jeenpra, aged 29 and a lady boy named Mr. Khamphon Jeenpra, aged 41, who was the elder brother of Mr. Somkid Jeenpra. They were arrested after the police found a white sack that contained a lot of war guns and ammunitions which was buried in the garden. The sack contained 10 AK-47 guns that were produced in Russia, one 9mm pistol , 1 rifle size .22, 1 revolver size .38 and 1 firelock with 3,760 bullets for an AK-47 gun, 500 .22 bullets, 34 9mm bullets and 7 .38 bullets.


Also the police also found 7,000 amphetamine pills and 2,450,000 THB which was hidden in the house that was owned by 2 of the defendants. Pol.Lt.Gen. Thanet said that the 2 defendants were members of Hia Khamain network which they were also the centre of buying and selling weapons and ammunition. Moreover, these 2 defendants also hired male teenagers to be hit men.


“Now, I have command the police to follow up suppress and seized illegal guns continually in order for peace in the eastern region” said Pol.Lt.Gen. Thanet.
