Traffic Police Officer For Saving A Tourist’s Life In Pattaya

A brave Traffic Police Officer of Pattaya Police Station was able to extend or save the life of a foreign tourist before he was sent to a hospital by medics.

PATTAYA – October 11, 2013 [Pattaya Daily News]; Pattaya Police received a report that a foreign tourist was involved in an accident at Pattaya Third Rd. nearby Tony’s Fitness Gyms. Medics and Police officers were immediately called onto the scene.

At the scene, medics and other police officers saw Police Sen. Sgt. Major Yot Areewong giving mouth-to-mouth resuscitation (CPR) to the reported foreign tourist. The wife of the tourist was holding her husbands hand while he was being taken care of by the police officer.

Mr. Veli Matti Helin, aged 78, from Finland was said to have suddenly collapsed as they were walking at Pattaya Third Rd. When Police Sen. Sgt. Major Areewong saw him collapse, he immediately called for medics and made the decision to do CPR. After doing CPR for about 10 minutes, Mr. Helin regained his consciousness, he was sent to a local hospital moments later.
