It also has the knock on effect of promoting the growth of marine leisure-related businesses in the Gulf of Thailand, covering sectors such as yachting, boat-building, hotel, real estate and marine tourism.

The Regatta is organised by the Top of the Gulf Regatta Organising Committee under the auspices of the Yacht Racing Association of Thailand under Royal Patronage, the Platu Club, the Royal Varuna Yacht Club and the Ocean Marina Yacht Club.

It is also sponsored and supported by many governmental and private establishments, including Sattahip Naval Base, the Tourist Authority of Thailand (TAT), Pattaya City Council, Ocean Property Ltd, Raimon Land PLC, Thai Airways International PLC, Boon Rawd Brewery Pic, Bangkok Pattaya Hospital and Kasikorn Bank PLC.
