On 5 November 2007, at 02.00PM, Pol.Lt.Col. Phongsawat Wongwarn, Pattaya investigator was notified that patrol officer had detained a thief in Soi Bua Khao then directed the police team to investigate.
About twenty meters from the incident, police found Mr. Manuel Amando Corrcia (38) from Portugal, had been detained with the evidence of a Fuji Digital camera, worth about ten thousand baht. Mrs. Pisamai Mathong (27), a witness, who is a cleaning lady of Suthat court and Mr.John, British Citizen, camera owner, identified the thief.

Mrs. Pisamai told police that Mr. John had asked her to clean his room, No. 2/6, by leaving the room key with her and left to have some beer with his friend. She just finished cleaning the room but has not locked the room yet. She came down stair for a rest. Mr. Corrcia, who was not a guest, appeared from nowhere and walked upstairs to go into Mr. John’s room. He came back out with the camera. Mrs. Pisamai was suspicious then asked if Mr. Corrcia is a friend of Mr.John. Mr. Corrcia immediately ran down stair then she suddenly informed the police to arrest him in time.

Police officer declared that Mr. Corrcia had many cases of stealing and snatch and run. All cases are still in court. It appears that he has not changed his behavior. Initially, Mr. Corrcia was charged of stealing and put in jail for further action by law.
