United States, the 19th of February 2010 [Pattaya Daily News]: Woods on Friday informed the gathered press, along with close friends and family that he is determined to finish the ‘sex addiction therapy’ which he is currently undertaking. He also apologised, in an emotional display of remorse, for the pain and disgrace that he had brought on those that he loved most.

Woods has made it clear that he will one day return to golf, however; he has stressed that his ‘sex therapy’ will take precedent. Although not ruling out a return within the year, Woods did state that he would not be rushing into anything despite recent media speculations.

In a show of humility, Woods announce that: “I have let you all down. For all that I have done, I am so sorry. I have a lot to atone for.” He also apologised to the public. “I have let down my fans.”

Reports from the car accident on the 27th of November state that Woods was in fact attacked by his wife, Elin Nordegren following the discovery of revelations regarding his infidelity, however; Woods moved to negate those reports on Friday, explaining: “Elin never hit me that night or any night. Elin has shown enormous grace and poise throughout this ordeal. She deserves praise not blame. I was unfaithful – I had affairs – I cheated. I am the only person to blame.”

In conclusion, Woods requested that the media leave his wife and children alone, clearly showing distress that his two-year-old daughter had been hounded by journalists, even whilst at school.

Woods has now spent up to 45 day in ‘sex addiction therapy’ and is expected to return to the program on Saturday. He concluded the press release by stating; “I have a long way to go, but I have taken steps in the right direction. I ask you to one day believe in me again.”
