Three Men Were Fatally Shot In A Car; One Escaped

Four men had a dispute in a pub and decided to move to somewhere else. On the way driving back home, they were followed and three of them were fatally shot. The car went into a ditch. One man who was not injuried managed to get out of the car and escaped without knowing that the shooter had shot his friends until finishing the magazine.

At 2am, on April 11, 2008, Laem Chabang police was notified of a shooting on Sukhumvit Road, inbound to Pattaya, in front of Wat Baan Mai, Laem Chabang area. A car went down into a ditch and there were several numbers of injuries. Pol.Lt. Krisakorn Longmuengpop immediately rushed to the scene.

Arriving at the scene, police found Sawang Prateep Rescue, Sriracha, were helping to take three injuried man out of a white Mitsubishi Lancer car, license No. 64, Chonburi. Police found out that one of the three victims was also a member of the Sawang Prateep Rescue.

Mr. Sakchai Dai-sinrum (24), an eyewitness who was in the same car, the only one who did not get injuried, told the police that he and his friends had been out for a drink at Satang Pub which is about one kilometer away from the incident. They had a dispute with other people who sat next to them in the pub. They were asked by the pub caretaker to take the problem outside if there where any. It was nearly the closing time and in order to avoid the problem, they decided to move to another pub at Si Mum Mueng market area. Once they got there, the other pub was already closed so they were going to go home.

On the way home, Mr.Sakchai said he heard a shooting and saw Mr. Jarong Wongsatien (33), the driver, was fatally shot at his head and loosing control of the car, going into a ditch on the roadside. Mr. Pinit Dai-rum, (35), who sat next to the driver, was shot on his right cheek bone, neck and body, he was dead instantly. Also Mr. Somjit Thanomrod (35), a member of the Sawang Prateep Rescue, who sat in the rear seat with him, was severely injured by being shot on his shoulder and taken to Laem Chabang Inter hospital for treatment.

Mr. Sakchai said that he did not get any injury as he was ducking down behind the back seat. When the car has stopped, he opened the door and ran away without knowing that the shooter came back to the car and shot his friends until the magazine was finished. He ran to ask for help from neighbors and wanted to tell the relatives of his friends.

Mr. Sakchai, was taken to Laem Chabang police station for further questioning about the cause of the shooting.

The Police will search for more evidence at the scene. The shooter was so thoroughly to follow and shoot the victims until finishing the magazine but did not realize that Mr. Sakchai, the important witness, got away. Police said.
