PATTAYA – June 16, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; Reporters revealed that thousands of bivalves had been washed up on Jomtien beach due to strong winds and large waves. Some villagers collected them and cooked them so they could sell them.

Upon questioning the villagers they said that they had never seen thousands of bivalves like this before and this was the first time. Also they said that they can be cooked and eaten because they hadn’t been washed up because of pollution but had been washed up because of strong winds and heavy seas. However these bivalves must be cooked before eating.

Soon after Pattaya’s officers went to the beach to clean up the shells because they are very sharp and can easily cut peoples feet.
