Pattaya, 17 December 2010 (PDN): At 7.00 am on Friday Lieutenant Itsaranuwat Jongapichaikun, an investigator with the Banglamung Police was notified of house burglary at 112/93, Moo 11, Phermsiri Village, Soi Khaotalo, Nongprue, Banglamung. A police team of was sent to investigate.

When the officers arrived at the 2-storey house they could see that the lock on the steel gate had been cut. In addition, the burglars had cut a total of 5 locks to gain entry to the house. The inside of the house had been ransacked, and according to the victim, Miss Natthaphorn Jitphon [38], the thieves had made off with a 32-inch LCD TV, a DVD player, a computer, a mobile phone, and 50,000 baht in cash, with a total value of 100,000 baht. Police found several fingerprints at the scene which were gathered by forensic officers as evidence.

Miss Natthaphorn told the police that she had gone to manage her beer bar at 10:00 pm the previous evening and had come back early in the moring to find the gate and doors open and several possessions missing, at which point she called the police. She had been living there for 3 years, and it was the first time something like this happened. She always used 5 strong locks on the house, which she thought would be enough to deter any thieves.

There was no CCTV installed in the local area and their were no witnesses to the crime. However CCTV footage from outside the village may reveal the perpetrators en route to or from the village.

Similar cases had apparently occured on several occasions before in the jurisdiction of the Banglamung Police, but no suspects had ever been arrested. From the modus operandi police believe these crimes were committed by the same people.
