Thieves Caught With Piles Of Stolen Items

Nong Kham Police arrested a dating couple, who also worked together as thieves to steal numerous items from dormitories and apartments of factory employees.

March 9, 2011, [Pattaya Daily News]: At 14:30, Police Colonel Wittaya Sriprasertpap; chief of Nong Kham Police station, Sriracha, along with Lt. Col. Kritmongkut Buranapakdee restoration loyal police protector and special combat police force arrested 23 year-old Mr. Wutthipong Numjan (living at 28/2 Moo 1, Tambon Bung, Sriracha District, Chonburi) and 25 year-old Ms. Wassana Wongsarakit. They worked together as thieves stealing from dormitories and rented rooms after owners went to work in a factory. They were arrested at Sriracha House No. 616, Moo 1, Tambon Nong Kham, Sriracha. These thieves live in room 303, Building A4 .

After investigation, police found that the two suspects were unemployed but they always have enough money to spend everyday and even to buy drugs. When searching their apartment, police were shocked at the number of articles seen in the room. Items found were listed under these categories:

– Jewelries: powder charm and coin, 80 different styles of Buddha necklaces, over 30 pieces of gold necklace and jewelry as well as 2 receipts that can be used to redeem gold from a pawnshop.

– Technological items: 15 mobile phones, computers and 10 televisions.

– Vehicle: a bronze Honda Wave – used as transportation for stealing.

– Drugs: 3 pieces of Ya-ice drug and Amphetamine devices.

– Miscellaneous: 2 notebooks, 8 piggy banks – cashed at 3,000 Baht, 4 pliers – 2 large ones for cutting glass, 8 motorcycle keys of various brands, a bag containing 40 assorted pieces.

Two suspects confessed that they have been stealing around dormitories and apartments. Their accomplices were Mr. Phimai Khumbua, aged 24 and Ms. Areerat Promwong, aged 22, who were also dating couples. These thieves often gathered together and cause troubles at the Ta site in Nong Kham, Sriracha, Laem Chabang, Bowin. The suspects explained that all stolen assets were to be sold for money which they would use to buy drugs. Unfortunately, they were arrested.

Many victims, whose possessions were stolen, reported to Nong Kham police, in addition to another station in Sriracha area. People who had reported missing items, were relieved to see their assets found at Nong Kham police station. However, in order to claim their properties, these people must have proof that the identified items truthfully belong to them. Nong Kham legal proceedings will continue.
