Thief Caught After Stealing Motorbike At Knife Point In Pattaya

Pattaya police have arrested a man who stole a motorbike at knife point in front of a 7-11 in Pattaya. He then fled to Ko Samet island, Rayong where he was finally arrested.

PATTAYA – August 29, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 14.00 pm Pol.Col.Suppatee Boonkrong-acting superintendent of Pattaya police station- was accompanied with police officers to arrest Mr.Prompan (Toomtam) Promma aged 42 after he had threatened Mr.Niphon Jaengim aged 32 a lady boy and grocery employee at knife point before taking his motorcycle from a 7-11 near Walking Street, South Pattaya in the morning of August 21st.

 

Upon questioning Mr.Prompan he confessed that he was previously searching for a job in Pattaya but he couldn’t find one. Later he ran out of money therefore he decided to rob a motorcycle from Mr.Niphon so that he could sell it to his friend in Ko Samet island, Rayong. After stealing the bike he went to Ko Samet island where he found a job so he decided to keep the bike and use it himself before he was arrested.

 

Mr.Niphon said that on the incident day he saw Mr.Prompan who into a grocery store and when he walked back out to his motorcycle he went over to him and pointed a knife at him and stole his motorbike. Mr Prompan then notified the police.

 

Pol.Col.Suppatee revealed that he had ordered the officers to hunt for the thief and to inspect the CCTV footage in the area to find the identity of the robber. Later the police officers found out that Mr.Prompan took the motorcycle to Ko Samet island therefore the police went there to arrest him.
