The ancient “Soil Houses” at Pattaya Floating Market Officially Opened

Adimistrators from Pattaya City Hall in conjunction with the Pattaya arm of Tourism Authority of Thailand, opened the Thai Cultural and Heritage Festival at the Floating Market today.

Pattaya, 7th June 2010 [Pattaya Daily News] At 4.00 pm, the Pattaya Floating Market Pattaya, Mayor Itthiphon Khunpluem, Pattaya TAT Director Niti Kongkrut and Pattaya Floating Market Pattaya Representative together, officially opened the “Soil Houses Village” in addition with the Thai wisdom ancient market exhibits. It was completely hosted by the honorary guests and media.

The ancient soil houses were intended to present the Thai culture, customs and heritage from the past, using natural materials in today’s daily life to the community and visiting tourists as our present day living is far more advanced from that, holding Materialism with electronics and high technology.

For the part of the old markets’ Thai wisdom, the sellers welcomed the customers in Thai traditional costumes to return to atmosphere and oldie world feel of hundreds of years ago before the 2nd world war. The fair of various products that was used in promoting the local’s careers presented rare and beautiful plants. Go along to select plants for your garden and find out about the useful hand made agricultural products, using the ancient ‘Red Satang Coins’ for shopping.
