Pattaya 27th November 2010: At 6.00am on 27th November Mr. Itthiphol Khunplume (Pattaya Mayor) chaired the 3rd Pattaya Buddhism Ceremony, which had been arranged by Pattaya City in conjunction with the Moral and Global Environmental Rehabilitation Club for the third year running.

The ceremony attracted some 20.000 people, and was organised as part of a nationwide project to provide food to 1,000,000 monks in 77 provinces. Also included this year will be those areas affected by the severe floods together with 286 temples in the four Southern provinces which have suffered insurgency for many years.

Such a large gathering had necessitated road closures, as previously announced, but city traffic was free to flow again once the ceremony was completed.
