THAILAND – June 21,2015 [PattayaDailyNews]; the Dusit Poll revealed the results about opening legal casinos in Thailand. 1,363 people took part in the poll from the 16th -20th and the results are as follows.


What do they think about a legal Casino in Thailand?

86.79 % This is a really complex issue and needed thought.

82.76 % Needs everyone’s opinion because some agree and disagree.

71.46% Good and bad points depends on the decision maker.

69.48% No one earns true happiness from gambling

67.50% It’s a popular issue nowadays.


2. What are the good points of a legal Casino?

76.60% Country could earn more money.

73.07% Will stimulate the economy.

71.31% Increased employment.

63.83% It’s easy to control and reduce extortion from mafia.

58.69% It will reduce illegal casinos.


3. What are the bad point of a legal Casino?

79.75% Can become addictive.

74.32% Can cause family issues.

70.43% Could destroyed the image of Thailand and its Buddhist culture.

68.67% It causes corruption.

64.56%It causes crime.


4. What would people like to say to the government if casinos are legal.

77.62% Needs to control age users and closing times.

76.16% Needs to follow a strict rule of practice.

75.50% The officials need to announce and make people aware of the casino.

62.66 % Casino should be zoned off as to not affect local communities or villages.

54.81 % The operators must be transparent and without corruption.

45.19% Disagreed and it will cause long-term issues.
