Thailand Top-Notch Designers To Exhibit Diverse Trends Of Home Decoration

Bangkok The Department of Export Promotion (DEP) joins force with Thailand?s renowned product designers to manifest five different styles of home decoration with latest lifestyle products to be showcased at the 26th Bangkok International Gift Fair and Bangkok International Houseware Fair, or widely known as BIG&BIH, which will be held on October 14-19, 2008 at the Challenger, IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center.

According to the fair organizer, DEP, the forthcoming BIG&BIH, which is the 26th edition of its kind, will once again feature Design Forum – an exhibition set up to showcase latest collections of lifestyle products selected from exhibitors at the fair.

However, the Design Forum for BIG&BIH-October 2008 will be more distinctive than ever as the exhibition display area will be designed by five of the country renowned designers, who will demonstrate five different trends of home decoration, using those assorted lifestyle products.

Mr. Suwan Kongkhunthien, Managing Director of Yothaka International Co., Ltd. will come up with a bathroom in Tropical Resort style, displaying products made from natural materials that are suitable for resort and spa decoration.

Mr. Anusorn Ngernyuang, Managing Director of Reflection Limited Partnership will manifest a kid room with Young & Fun concept, focusing on colorful products, toys and novelties for children and teenagers.

Ms. Jiraphan Kittisasikultorn, Design Director, Able Interior Workshop Co., Ltd. will show a Luxury Style of bedroom decoration, displaying luxurious goods for interior work.

Ms. Ploenchan Vinyaratn, Co-founder of Beyond Living Co., Ltd., will demonstrate Urban Life concept for a living room decoration, showing products with modern designs with function suitable for small space decoration.

ML. Pawinee Santisiri (Sukhasvasti), Managing Director of Ayodhya Trade Ltd. Part, will come up with Oriental Chic style of home decoration, exhibiting contemporary design products, influenced by South-East Asian culture.

I do believe that having these leading trendsetters of the country taking part in the exhibition will help make BIG&BIH more attractive, said Mr. Tony Suppattranont, one of the fair organizing committee and the President of Design and Object Association.

BIG&BIH are held twice annually in April and October by the Department of Export Promotion, the Ministry of Commerce, with its purpose to create business and export opportunities for local producers and exporters of gifts, premiums, home decorative items, housewares, toys, stationery and office supplies.

The next edition of BIG&BIH, which is the 26th time of its kind, will be held on October 14-19, 2008 at the Challenger Hall, IMPACT, Muang Thong Thani. The first four days (October 14-17) are reserved for trade negotiations only, while October 18-19 are opened for the public.

The fair organizer, DEP, expects a number of 750 producers and exporters of gifts, premiums, home decorative items, household products, home textiles, toys and novelties, stationery, and office equipment from Thailand and across Asia to participate in BIG&BIH-October 2008, while a number of 17,000 trade visitors are expected to attend, especially those buyers and importers from USA, Canada, Africa, Europe, Asia and Middle East.
