Singapore, the 7th of December 2009 [Pattaya Daily News]: In the match at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, the Thailand Tigers were victories over the home nation in a tensely fought battle. The match pace was fast and frenetic with both teams opting to play a running game with full court pressure defense.

The Slingers did well to lead in the first quarter following only minimal mistakes by both sides, however; the remaining 3 quarters were a disaster for the Singaporean players as their basket percentage sank to an abysmal 35%.

Michael Le Blanc led the Slingers with 23 points and ten rebounds, the only player to score in double figures for the home side. Singapore’s other imported star was Kyle Jeffers who never got going offensively but contributed with 16 rebounds in the losing effort.

Ratdech Kruatiwa who came off the bench to lead the scoring for the Tigers with 15 points added a game-high five steals to his stats. Lertmalaiporn chipped in 13 points with Chaz Briggs adding a further 12.

The game finished 62-65 in favor of the Tigers in a close fought match-up. The Slingers were unlucky in the final minutes of the game, not to be awarded three free throws after Michael Le Blanc was repetitively fouled in the key. The referee subsequently waved away the resulting protests much to the delight of the Tigers team who travelled home with victory in the bag.
