Thai Police Arrest Japanese Con Man

Thai police made a statement about the arrest of a 34-year-old Japanese man  who was a member of the Sumiyoshi-kai gang who had defrauded  85 million Yen or 22 million THB from victims before hiding in Pattaya city.

THAILAND – March 2nd , 2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; Pol.Gen. Jakthip Chaijinda (Deputy Director-General of The National Police Bureau), Pol.Lt.Gen. Sriwara Rangsiphramkul (Commissioner) and the officers of Patrol and the Special Operation Division together made a statement about the arrest of Mr. Shiniji Nakata, aged 34, a Japanese nationality, who was wanted for fraud in Japan.

 

Pol.Gen. Jakthip Chaijinda (Deputy Director-General of The National Police Bureau) had  been contacted by  Japanese police on February 24th  2015 to ask Thai police to locate a Mr. Shiniji Nakata, aged 34, Japanese nationality, passport number TL0008384. He is wanted by  the Japanese authorities for defrauding  85 million Yen or 22 million THB by selling fake bonds to people last year.

 

The Thai police arrested Mr. Shiniji at the  JW condominium in Soi Bua Khao, central Pattaya, Amphur Banglamung, Chon Buri province.  Upon questioning him he confessed to all the  allegations and the officers also found that his visa had expired. He was then sent to Pracha Chuen police station for further questioning.  The Japanese police had already come to Thailand to take  Mr. Shiniji  back to Japan so he can be  prosecuted  according to the Japanese  law.

 

However, Mr. Shiniji was due to be taken to Ratchadapisek Criminal Court in Bangkok later today (March 2, 2015) where  the police will investigate  whether he has been involved with any businesses in Thailand.

 

He will then be detained at the Immigration Police facility until the  Japanese authorities  come to  take him back to Japan.
