Thai Men Caught At Police Checkpoint With Drugs

Two Thai men were arrested on charge of drug. Plus, one jumped a police checkpoint before he was arrested.

PATTAYA – February 25,2016 [PattayaDailyNews]; at 02.00am Pol.Col.Trairong Piewphan- deputy superintendent of Chonburi police station-, Pol.Lt.Narawit Rodkasikam- inspector of NongPrue police station-, Pol.Lt.Col.Komchana Ananta- inspector of BangLamung police station- and police officers made the statement after they caught Mr.Rittidet Wongwai aged 40 with 10 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine, 200 pills of amphetamine and Mr.Nattawut Sriboonrueng aged 22 with 0.5 gram of Crystal Methamphetamine.


Previously, the police officers had installed a checkpoint on a local road in order to search for illegal items of those drivers and riders. Later the police officers found Mr.Rittidet and asked him for inspection; however, the man decided to break the checkpoint and ran away.


The police officers had chased him until they caught him finally. Upon inspection him the police officers found the drug on him. The suspect claimed that he bought these drugs from an agent in BangLamung district in order to resell.


Meanwhile, the police officers arrested another man Mr.Nattawut as he was riding out from a village. He immediately turned back when he spotted the officers but the officers followed him and asked him for inspection. He tried to throw the drug away but the officers knew the trick.


Initially, the police officers would prosecute them on charge of drug according to Thai law.
