Thai Man Lies To Police After Fatal Accident

A Thai man told police that he was the driver of a pickup truck which collided with a motorcycle taxi killing the rider because the driver was drunk and didn’t have a driving licence.

PATTAYA – May 19,2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 04.30 am Pol.Lt.Siraphudet Chamnankit-inspectoor of Pattaya police station- was notified that a car had collided with a motorcycle in front of a Dance Studio. After notification the police officers and rescue team immediately rushed to inspect the scene.

 

At the scene the officers found a Thai girl who was aged approximately 25-30 unconscious on the road with a broken leg. The rescuers performed first aid on her before sending her to Bang Lamung hospital. Also the officers found the body of Mr.boonlert Kosin aged 50 who was motorcycle taxi rider.

 

In addition, the officers found an Isuzu D-Max which had been severely damaged and the deceased motorcycle was stuck underneath it.

While Pol.Lt.Siraphudet was inspecting the scene Mr.sutthipong Nonkot aged 42 pretended to be the driver but an eyewitness revealed that he was lying because the driver was a fat man.

 

However, the officers questioned him for half an hour before he confessed that he was not the driver but the driver and the driver was Mr.prasert Chuasathum aged 24 who didn’t have a driving license.

 

Upon questioning Mr.prasert he revealed that he was on the way back home after a party and he was really drunk. He drove in the middle of the road zigzagging all over the road before colliding with the motorcycle taxi rider.

 

However, the police officers prosecuted Mr.Prasert according to the traffic law and Mr.Suttipong was also prosecuted for lying to the police.
