Thai Fraudster ArrestedA Thai man was arrested by police after he had pretended to be a chauffeur for a Singapore ambassador.
PATTAYA-22nd September- [PattayaDailyNews] reporters were notified by the employees of the Eastiny Hotel in Central Pattaya that they had captured a Thai man who was pretending to be a chauffeur for an Embassy officer and he hadn’t paid for his room.
Reporters found that Mr.Poramin Charoenchai aged 25 claimed that he was a chauffeur of Singapore ambassador. He had booked a room via internet from the 19-31 September 2015.
The hotel manager said that the man had stayed at the hotel for 13 days and the total cost was 30,852 baht. When the hotel staff asked him to pay, he told them that he needed to wait for the ambassador to transfer the money. Later the staff spotted him acting in a suspicious manner so they called the police to question him.
The police then checked his criminal record and found out that he had been arrested in 2012 and jailed for 2 years for robbery. He had also tricked his father out of 300,000 baht. However, the police charged him for fraud.
