Teenagers Shoot Volunteer Policeman

A volunteer policeman was sat parked on his motorbike waiting for his friend when a group of male teenagers riding 3-4 motorbikes rode past at started shooting at him severely injuring him. The police rushed to the scene.

PATTAYA – January 29, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 2.30 a.m. Pol. Lt. Col. Prasit Munsri (Investigation officer of Pattaya city police station, Chonburi province) was notified that there was a victim who had been was shot and was severely injured. The incident occurred at the beginning of Soi Sukhumvit-Pattaya 53 (Soi Nern Phlub Wan), Moo 5 central Pattaya, Tambon Nong Prue, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province. The victim’s friend had already sent him to Banglamung hospital so he rushed to the hospital together with the detective police team.

At the emergency room the officers found the injured man who was identified as a Mr. Sakda Charnchai, aged 18, address 77/1 Moo 6 Tambon Nong Prue, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province, who is a volunteer policeman of Nong Prue police station and works at the sentry box of Pornthep 5 village. He had been shot once beneath his right breast with an unknown size bullet and was severely injured. Upon investigating Mr. Sanan Chimwisate, aged 18, address 49 Moo 11 Tambon Nong Prue, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province, who is the injured victim’s friend he told police that Mr. Sakda or M had parked their motorbikes on the footpath near the flyover in order to wait for their friends but suddenly there was a group of male teenagers which consisted of 3-4 motorbikes with 2 persons per bike then 1 of them took out the gun and shot Mr. Sakda once and Mr. Sanan ran away to hide from the group until they fled in the scene in the direction to north Pattaya. Mr. Sanan said that he didn’t know why they were shot at but he only knew Mr. Sakda for a short period of time.

However, the police will inspect the CCTV along the route that the group of teenagers might drive their motorbikes to escape in order to follow up to arrest them and prosecute further according to the Thai law.
