Teenager Drowns In Pattaya Reservoir

A teenage man has drowned in a reservoir in Pattaya, he was swimming with friends and decided to swim out into the middle of the reservoir where he got into difficulty and drowned.

PATTAYA – October 30, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 17.50 pm Pol.Capt.Piya Boonaon-inspector of Huay Yai police station- was notified that a man had drowned in Chaknok reservoir. Local people had searched for him and found him already. After notification the police officers rushed to inspect the scene with Sawang Borriboon rescue team.


At the scene was a pool which was 5 meters deep and the officials found his body and he was only wearing underwear. Upon inspecting the body there were no traces of foul play. Later the body was identified as Mr.Nu aged 17.


Upon questioning Mr.Ninthakarn Boonnoi aged 19 he told the officers that he and his friends sat near the pool when some teenagers asked them to help search for their missing friend, after20minutes of searching they found him drowned in the pool.

The deceased’s friends said that Mr.Nu and 5 friends were swimming in the reservoir when Mr.Nu decided to swim into the middle of the pool. Later Mr.Nu tried to swim back to shore when they heard him shout for help before drowned. They didn’t know what to do so they decided to ask for help.


Initially the officers expected that Mr.Nu suffered cramped and drowned because the water was cold and deep. However the rescue team sent the body to Bang Lamung hospital.
