Taxi Driver Finds 50,000 THB And Asked The Police To Find Its Owner

A taxi driver who found a wallet containing 50,000 THB on the back seat of his taxi after dropping off three Iranian customers took the wallet to the police station. Once at the police station the Iranians turned up to report their missing wallet and couldn’t thank the taxi driver enough for his kindness.

PATTAYA – March 19, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 01.00, Mr.Wichain Polkong, 58 year old, from Chonburi, a taxi driver, at Utapao airport Sattahip, took a wallet containing 50000 baht to the police station to notify Pol.Lt.Col.Suppachai Phuikaewkam, director of Pattay police station to find the owner.

Mr.Wichian Polkong, said he took 3 Iranians from Utapao airport to South Pattaya, but after he dropped them off and had been driving for a while he noticed a wallet on the back seat, so he checked it and it contained foreign money and Thai baht inside. He did not know where to return it so he took it to police station because he was afraid that the owners might be in trouble because they had lost their money.

Whilst at the police station Mr.Ramin Rajeeftabar, 25 years old Iranian and his friends walked in to report his missing wallet, then he noticed Mr.Wichian with his wallet and was so happy that he had handed in his wallet he couldn’t thank him enough for his kindness.

Pol.Col. Supachai Puikaewkam, director of Muang Pattaya police station, said that it is great that he found the money and returned it and in 2015, Thailand would open to AEC, that would make more credit to Thailand, for business men who would come here to work, however the police praised the taxi driver and Pattaya city would reward him for his kindness.
