TAT To Stimulate Russia TourismTAT (Tourism Authority of Thailand) has discussed with operators in order to urge the tourism industry in Russia after falling numbers of tourists due to the recession.
PATTAYA-2nd June- [PattayaDailyNews] at TSIX5 Phenomenal hotel TAT held a seminar about the Russian market CIS and Mr.Narin Tijayoung-assist director of TAT Moscow branch-, Mr.Konstantin Kinel-marketing manager of TAT Moscow branch- tour operators and reporters from Russia attended the seminar.
Ms.Suladda Sarutilawan-director of TAT Pattaya brahch- revealed that the public sector will hold a Thailand Travel Mart Plus on 3-5 June 2015 at the Impact Arena and operators from around the world will attend the exhibition. As a result of the recession in Russia the number of tourists has fallen considerably therefore they intended to discuss a solution.
Mr.Narin revealed that the Russian Ruble had depreciated massively against the Thai baht and the Russia tourists are now going to elsewhere. As a result TAT had tried to find a way to stimulate the tourism industry and they initially intended to aim at specific groups like newly married couples for relaxation and adventure holidays.
In addition, they intended to focused on (CIS) Commonwealth of Independent States consisting of Belarus and Latvia and the officials intended to hold a Muay Thai (Thai boxing) fair in Russia in order to promote Thai tourism because Muay Thai is popular in Russia and there are many Muay Thai gyms in Russia.
