Tail Gating Buses Crash Into Each Other On Pattaya Motorway

Six tourist buses which were carrying Chinese Tourists have collided with each other after a truck swerved in front of the first one and had to brake suddenly which caused all the other buses to hit each other because they were travelling too close to each other.

PATTAYA– November 8, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 16.00 pm Pol.Lt.Col.Pongsarun Wangplub-inspector of route police station- was notified that 6 tourist buses had been involved in an accident on a Pattaya motorway and there were lots of injured passengers. After notification the police officers, Sawang Borriboon rescue team and about 10 ambulances rushed to the scene.

 

At the scene the officials found a Mitsubishi truck which had been  severely damaged on the side of the road. They also found  Mr.Somchai Karnsap aged 62 and Mrs.Areewan Aumsuwan aged 54 in the truck. Fortunately the couple had only sustained minor  injuries so the officers sent them to Bang Lamung hospital. In addition 6 busses which were transporting  Chinese tourists had been damaged were parked on the side of the road. Mr.Somnuk Inban a 36 year old driver was stuck inside one of the buses and the rescue team had to cut him free before sending him to  Bang Lamung hospital.

 

A motorcyclist had collided into the back of the last bus and the bike was stuck underneath but fortunately the rider was only slightly injured. Also there was about 300 Chinese standing on the side of the road and some had sustained injuries.

 

Upon questioning Mr.Pan Siha a 28 year old bus driver he revealed that he was driving towards Pattaya when the truck swerved in front of him so he tried to brake but it was too late and collided into the back of the truck which then set off a chain reaction of all the other buses crashing into the back of each other.

 

Also the police officers took the photos and recorded the incident before taking the drivers to be questioned at the police station.
