Sybille Bammer Wins The Pattaya Women’s Open And $23,700 In Prize Money.

At Dusit Resort in Pattaya on February 11th, the last game was played in the WTA Tour, under the name of Pattaya Woman’s Open 2007.

            The first set of the finals was between Gisela Dulko, Argentinean ranked at 51 and Sybille Bammer from Austria, ranked at 62, which Bammer won at 4-1,7-5,6-3. In the next set Dulko scored 5-3, 5-5, 7-5. In the final set, Bammer scored 7-5, 3-6, 7-5. Consequently, Bammer won the match, 2 sets to 1. The competition lasted for 2 hours. 

            The Assistant Mayor of Pattaya, Mr. Ronakij Akegasingh, and the Vice-Chairman of the Tennis Association in Thailand, Mr. Chaipak Sirriwat, presented the prizes to the winners. As champion, Sybille Bammer won $23,700 (876,900 Baht) in prize money and the runner up, Gisela Dulko, from Argentina won $12,775 (472,675 Baht).
