Swedish Tourist Receives Help from Ex-commander of Crime Suppression

Ex-commander of Crime Suppression Division gave money to a male Swedish tourist victim after he was drugged and robbed by a Pattaya lady boy late at night on January 27th , 2015.

PATTAYA – January 28,2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 1.00 p.m., at Pattaya city police station, Chon Buri province, Pol.Maj.Gen. Suphisarn Phakdeenaruenart (Ex-commander of Crime Suppression Division) in a status as the Chairman of Advisor to the Tourist Assistance Foundation together with his entourage gave cash of 5,000 THB to Mr.Tor Langseth, aged 59, a Swedish tourist, to help him as he had been a victim of a drugging as well as having his property stolen in an area of Pattaya city. In attendance was Pol.Col. Anukul Preedayuth (an expert inquiry official of Pattaya city police station).


Pol.Maj.Gen. Suphisarn said that the Tourist Assistance Foundation is a private organization that is established for assisting foreign tourists who suffer crimes against them whilst in Thailand. For the case of Mr. Tor Langseth, a Swedish tourist, who late night on January 27th walked leisurely along the side of Pattaya beach, when suddenly a lady boy riding a motorbike beside him, tried to hug him before applying a drug that made him feel dizzy. At this time the lady boy pick pocketed his wallet which contained cash of 5,000 dollars approximately, credit cards and important documents.. After the Tourist Assistance Foundation knew about this incident officers came to give him money for Mr. Tor Langseth to assist him and help him on the remainder of his stay in the Kingdom. Moreover, this consolation and relief operation will help improve the tourism image of Thailand.


Mr.Tor Langseth revealed that he would like to thank the officers of every organization that assisted him. He said that after incident occurred he felt so bad and upset, but when he thought about it, there are also a lot of incidents of crimes in other countries all over the world not just here in Pattaya. Thai people are very generous and always assist people in distress which impressed him with Thai people’s kindness. Mr. Tor Langseth said additionally that he will tell his friends and family how the Thailand people assisted him and that, he will come back to Thailand for certain.
