PATTAYA – March 7, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 5.00 p.m. Pol.Capt. Phithak Nernsaeng (Investigation officer of Pattaya city police station, Chonburi Province) was notified by Mr. Samith Juthanukarn, aged 26, residing at house no. 1055/1365, Silom road, Silom Sub-district, Bang Rak District, Bangkok, that he had been cheated by a foreign man that sold him a Rolex wrist watch that cost over 100,000 THB, but after inspecting it he found that it was a fake.

Mr. Samith said that he is the owner of plastic production factory in area of Bang Bua Thong, Nonthaburi Province. On the night of March 6, 2014, he was surfing the website of bfit when he contacted the seller of a second hand Rolex wrist watch, model Submariner. Mr. Carl Anders Mikael Anderson, aged 55, a Swedish National, had advertised the Rolex on the website for a price of 110,000 THB so Mr. Samith thought that it was much cheaper than a brand new one that costs 240,000 THB.

He then made an appointment with Mr. Carl Anders Mikael Anderson at Big C Extra department store, central Pattaya to purchase the watch. Mr. Carl gave the wrist watch to him then he gave him the money and asked to take a photograph of Mr. Carl’s passport. Mr. Carl then rushed off looking suspicious, so Mr. Samith inspected the wrist watch in detail and found that it was a fake one so he rushed to notify with the investigation officer of Pattaya city police station.

Upon initial investigation the police made a note of the incident in the record for evidence before sending a detective police team to co-ordinate with the officers of Chonburi Immigration Bureau to check Mr. Carl’s passport whether it is real or not in order to follow the arrest of the Swedish man and prosecute him further according to the Thai law.
