Suwarnabhumi Security Raised To Level 3

Suvarnabhumi airport raised its security to level 3 to ensure a great number of passengers in the coming Chinese new year.

On January 16, 2011 Mr.Somchai Swaddiphol, acting director of the Airports of Thailand (AOT) announced that the airport have raised its security to level 3. As we have been hearing the news about terrorism and it is nearly Chinese new year there are always be a great number of passengers both departures and arrivals. The said level is much more serious than usual by adding more extra security personals and increasing more performing frequency in patrolling through all internal and external areas of the passenger terminal buildings, and increasing strictly on car parking at the front of the terminal building’s platform by prohibiting of waiting, only getting in and off are allowed.

Moreover, the airport has established many of checkpoints in its area, raised more extensive screening of luggage before passengers go on board, randomly checking some passengers proportion 1:10 by taking them walking thought the Metal Detector both alarmed and not alarmed .Besides the air port cooperated with Suvarnabhumi Airport tourist police and tourist police to 24 hours security patrol in its area.

Mr.Somchai added that this strict security is normal because there always be a great deal of departure and arrival passengers in important festival periods like new year, Songkran, or Chinese new year, so the air port have to be strict for passengers’ security.
