Myanmar, Nov 23- The 65-year-old mother went to Yangon’s airport to see her 33-year-old son, who sported a red tattoo on his arm depicting the logo of her National League for Democracy.

The Nobel Peace laureate has been freed from house arrest after a general election, orchestrated by Myanmar’s military junta and criticized by the international community as a sham, had been held earlier this month.

Mrs Suu Kyi’s son, who entered Myanmar with a long-awaited visa issued by the Myanmar embassy in Bangkok, has resided in England and was stripped of Myanmar citizenship by the military junta. So was his 37-year-old brother, Alexander.

Mrs Suu Kyi’s sons received the Nobel Peace prize on her behalf in 1991. Her Briton husband, Michael Aris, who had been denied entry into Myanmar to see her, died in 1999.
