Suspicious Objects Found In Front Of Pattaya City Hall

Two suspicious bags were found in front of Pattaya City Hall. Upon inspection they were only bags with bottles.

PATTAYA – August 16,2016 [PattayaDailyNews]; at 20.00pm Pol Capt Witsanu Chaisuwan, deputy inspector of Pattaya police station, was notified that 2 suspicious bags were left by a foreigner in front of Tesco Lotus North Pattaya branch. The officers were suddenly dispatched to inspect the scene.


At the location, the officers found MR Dumrong Wangsuddaeng, security guard of Pattaya City Hall, and staffs of department store kept the people away from the suspicious bags.


Upon inspection the bags only contained bottles. MR Beukes Johannes Matthys 58-year-old South Africa national was identified as who left the bags; therefore, the officers detained him to question.

MR Dumrong said that he had kept the eyes on the foreigner who suspiciously walked around Pattaya City Hall for a while before the foreign man left the bags. As a result, he decided to notify the police.


The officers initially expected that the African man might be troublemaker; however, the official stands by for 24 hours.
