Suspicious Backpacks Found in Pattaya Bin

A female cook at the Pattaya Bazaar market has notified the police after she found 2 suspicious backpacks in a bin in front of the market where she worked.

PATTAYA – September 12th 2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 6.00 p.m., Pol.Capt. Pallop Ringrod (Deputy Inspector of Pattaya City police station) was notified by a bystander that there was a suspicious package in a bin in front of the Pattaya Bazaar market, north Pattaya road, Pattaya city, Chon Buri province. After notification he rushed to the scene.

At scene, the police found 2 overweight black backpacks which were in a yellow litter bin in front of the Pattaya Bazaar Market. They then contacted the EOD officers of Chon Buri Provincial Police Station to come to inspect the backpacks. After inspection it was found that they only contained clothes and rocks.


Upon questioning Mrs. Jan Ha-suk, aged 61, who is a chef in the market she told police that earlier there was a medium-sized Thai man aged approximately 30 years old carrying the backpacks and put them in the bin before quickly fleeing the scene. Mrs. Jan was suspicious of his actions and decided to contact the police.

The police assumed that the 2 backpacks belonged to a person who tried to cause panic and chaos to the general public. Initially, the police recorded the incident and will check the CCTV in the area to try and find the identity of the person involved. The investigation continues.
