Pattaya 15th July 2010 [Pattaya Daily News] At approximately 12.00 am police Lieutenant Colonel Wanlop Kangtharathip (Pattaya Police Investigator) was notified of the suicide of a Thai woman at 37410, Romance Grand Ville, Soi Thai Udom, North Pattaya, Moo5, Naklua, Banglamung. Subsequently the team of officers led by Police Colonel Natthawut Suwanla-ong (Pattaya Police Superintendent), Police Lieutenant Colonel Klitsakorn Thongin (Pattaya Police Deputy Superintendent), and Police Lieutenant Colonel Thrathep Tuphanit (Pattaya Police Deputy Superintendent) along with Sawang Boriboon Foundation personnel and Banglamung Hospital medical officer went to investigate.

At the scene on the ground floor of a 2-storey concrete house, the body of Mrs. Rawipha Shehane [38] was discovered in a sitting position on the sofa with her legs up on the coffee table. She suffered one bullet wound to the right temple that had gone straight through her head and out of the left side. A single bullet was found on the floor nearby. There were no signs of a struggle or assault.

A typed letter was found nearby which turned out to be the will of Mrs. Shehane instructing her lawyer Mr. Amnaj Thiengtham to proceed in transferring all her property to Mr. Charles Shehane, her American husband as she had no living relatives or children.

Further investigation showed the gun contained five bullets with one missing. The officer made his report of the incident and the gun along with the will were kept as evidence.

The body of the deceased was sent for autopsy at the Forensic Institute to find further clues that may have led to the incident.

Mr. Charles Shehane [56] an American National, stated that he was a former US soldier who later resigned to start a Pet Cemetery Design business before moving to Pattaya and marrying the deceased.

He and his wife had bought the house and lived together for three years.  Mr. Shehane did not allow his wife to do much due to her health issues and personal stress. He continued by saying he and his wife had not had an argument or falling out before her death.   Before the incident, Mr. Shehane had gone out and on his return found that his wife had killed herself with her gun that was legally registered.

Mr. Shehane presumed his wife had killed herself due to the stress she was under, which was corroborated by the police. After the autopsy the deceased will be returned to the husband for the funeral ceremony.
