Stressed Female Drug Dealer Makes Fatal Leap

A 33-year-old woman leaped to her death from a Bangkok police headquarters building. After being arrested for drug dealing, she had called her mother, who scolded her harshly. The stressed woman then ran from the police and jumped off the building’s 3rd floor.

BANGKOK – December 19, 2012 [Pattaya Daily News]; a report of a woman jumping off a police building was received by Pol. Capt. Kittisak Sommat, detective officer of Phaya Thai Bangkok. He went to check the scene with the rescuers from Po Tek Tueng.

The incident occurred at Investigation Center building at Metropolitan Police headquarters, Sri Ayudha Road, Tung Phayat Thai, Ratchathewi district.

At the scene, police found the body of the victim. She was lying face down and bleeding from her head. The impact had broken her arms and legs, which were in deformed positions. She was wearing jeans, slippers and a black-and-white striped, long-sleeve shirt.

Police checked the 3rd floor of the building where she jumped. They recovered her black bag and a black jacket. The victim was identified as Ms. Weeraya Maneechai, 33 years old, living in the Taweewattana subdistrict.

Ms. Weeraya had been arrested the previous evening in the Bangbon area. She had been caught with 95 tablets of meth and 380 tablets of Ecstasy. She was taken to the third floor of the police investigation center for interrogation. After being investigated, Ms. Veeraya was about to be transported to the Bangbon police station for prosecution.

At that point, she was feeling stressed, so she called her mother. However, she got told off by her mom. So Ms. Weeraya ran to escape from the police, and leaped off the third floor of the building to her death.
