Stray Dogs Out of ControlPhlu Ta Luang Center of Patronizing Stray Dogs made a statement to ask animal lovers to castrate their dogs because the number of stray dogs is getting out of control.
SATTAHIP – August 5,2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; Mr. Suraphon Sa-nguan-chart-sorn-krai (An owner of Phlu Ta Luang Center of Patronizing Stray Dogs) made a statement to the mass media and said that dog owners should castrate their pets in order to reduce the amount of stray dogs.
Mr. Suraphon said that he would like to explain that Phlu Ta Luang Center of Patronizing Stray Dogs cannot cope with all the stray dogs because it has limited space and can only cope with 1,000 – 1,500 dogs, At present they have around 800 dogs. Also there isn’t enough staff. They have a limited budget and all the dogs that have been sent there have come from Pattaya. Lots of dogs have been abandoned and because they haven’t been castrated they are breeding causing more problems.
“I would like to ask for cooperation from local people and all animal lovers to castrate your dogs and pets as it will prevent the number of dogs increasing and the problem will be easier to control. This problem is because there is no law at present from controlling dogs and once abandoned they breed rapidly causing problems in the society therefore I would like to ask for everybody’s cooperation in castrating all of your pets.”
