Sriracha Monks Arrested with Amphetamines

Monks in Sriracha were arrested with possession and sales of ya-ice. They confessed that they comsumed and sold ya-ice to teens and workers before being ordained as monks

Sriracha, July 15, 2011,(PDN) Pol.Maj. Suwijak Reaungnuamdee and Pol.Maj. Wuttipat Napachot, Sriracha Inspector Suppression along with his team went to a temple in Sriracha to search the monk’s dwelling; monk Jittasangwaro or Mr Kunakorn Pewnuan, 35, and monk Kittisopano or Mr Kittisak Sirikul, 31. The police found four bags of ya-ice, a purchase list, and drug paraphernalia hidden in their residence.

This arrest resulted from the prior arrest of Mr Singkorn Tongdee in possessin of one bag of ya-ice.

The two monks confessed that they comsumed and sold ya-ice to teens and workers for a long time before being ordained. They thought that being a monk could conceal them from the police. Their ordination was immediately terminated and were prosecuted.
