Speeding Van Collides With TruckA van which was being driven at high speed collided into the back of a 6-wheeled truck which was doing a u-turn. Luckily nobody was killed.
PATTAYA – June 3,2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 6.00 a.m., Pol.Lt.Col. Samai Somjit (Inquiry official of Banglamung police station, Chon Buri province) was notified that there was an accident involving a van that had collided with a 6-wheeled truck and there were 3 casualties. The incident occurred on Sukhumvit road opposite to Soi Banglamung 29. Therefore, Pol.Lt. Samai rushed to the scene with the rescue team of Sawang Boriboon Tharmma Satharn Rescue Foundation, Pattaya city.
At the scene they found a bronze Toyota van that had ran into the back of a 6-wheeled truck that was loaded with ice. The force of the impact had pushed the truck into the ditch in the middle of the road.
Also at the scene the officers found the van driver on the road with a wound to his right leg. The rescuers rushed him to Banglamung hospital. Further more they found 2 more casualties, the driver of the truck and his passenger, they were identified as Mr. Prajak Pamaphootto, aged 42 ( truck driver), who was slightly injured and Mr. Watchira Phonsaen ( passenger), who had sustained a head and shoulder injury. Therefore, the rescuers performed first aid on them and sent them to Banglamung hospital for further treatment.
Upon questioning Mr. Watchiraphong Phonsaen (passenger), he told the police that he and Mr. Prajak (a truck driver) were changing lane in order to do a U-turn when the van which was travelling a high speed ran into the back of them pushing them into the centre ditch causing their injuries.
Initially, the police took photographs of the scene for evidence and will investigate the accident further to find the truth so they can prosecute the offending driver.
