Speeding Car Collides With Pedestrian

A 49-year-old woman who was driving her car at speed down Pattaya beach road collided with a pedestrian severely injuring him. He required CPR before he was rushed to hospital.

PATTAYA – June 14,2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 4.30 a.m., Pol.Lt. Theerawat Na Ranong (Inquiry official of Pattaya city police station, Chon Buri province) was notified that there was an accident involving a car which had collided with a pedestrian who was crossing the road. The incident happened at the beginning of Soi 13/2, Pattaya beach road. So he rushed to inspect the scene together with the rescue team of Sawang Boriboon Tharmma Satharn Foundation, Pattaya city.


At scene the officers found an injured male victim who was identified as Mr. Phanuwat Phao-jan-thuek, aged 24. He had stopped breathing so the doctors performed Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) on him before sending him to Bangkok Hospital Pattaya. Approximately 20 meters away in front of Royal Garden Pattaya department store, the officers found a white Chevrolet Captiva car which had traces of a collision and the wind screen was shattered. Mrs. Saowanee Finlay, aged 49, who was the driver of the car was standing waiting for the police.




Upon questioning Mr. Ratchot Saenkham, aged 19, who was the victim’s friend, he told the police that he, Mr. Phanuwat and their friends had come to the beach to relax. Later he and Mr. Phanuwat went to buy some goods from a shop but on their way back while they were crossing the road a car which was being driven at high speed suddenly appeared and hit Mr. Phanuwat. So he quickly notified the police for assistance.


After initial inspecting and investigating of the scene the detained Mrs. Saowanee Finlay and took her to Pattaya city police station in order to be investigated and prosecuted further according to the Thai law.
