Sattahip, the 26th of February 2010 [Pattaya Daily News]: Officer Charn Iamjarern (Sattahip Marshal) and Officer Surachet Keowkham (Sattahip Permanent) along with a taskforce from the Overcome Drug Addiction Center of the Sattahip Navy successfully apprehended a Thai female in the process of dealing an illegal class-1 restricted drug. The officers had been acting on a tipoff that a deal was about to take place at a rental property in Plutaluang, Sattahip.

Proceeding to the scene, officers blockaded the surround streets to prevent the offenders escape, surveying the rental property until the suspect arrived. Arriving at the house the suspect was immediately approached and was found to be Miss Yuwathida Janthana [28] from Sriracha. Miss Janthana, who was also found to be heavily pregnant, was in possession of 43 pills of the class-1 restricted drug Ya-Ba, 9,200 baht in cash and three mobile phones.

Miss Janthana was subsequently arrested along with Mr. Marut Phasuk [28] and Miss Nisachon Boonjan [27] who had initiated the drug deal. Miss Janthana confessed under interrogation that she had procured the drugs from a larger dealer in Rong Poe known as ‘Art Rong Poe,’ he had sold the Ya-Ba to her at a price of 200 baht per pill for which she was planning to on-sell the drugs to Mr. Phasuk and Miss Boonjan for between 250 baht each. Miss Janthana further explained that she was only using drug dealing as a means to earn money to fund her impending labour.

Marshal Keowkham revealed that their investigations would now proceed in cooperation with the Overcome Drug Addiction Center of the Sattahip Navy in an attempt to apprehend other members of the drug distribution network. The three offenders have been charged with class-1 drug possession and distribution offences.
