South Pattaya Canal Restored 50% of Work

Pattaya officers have restored the width of a drainage canal by 50% in 10 days. The canal was ordered to be returned back to its original size after local people had built on and over it reducing flood water flow during the rainy season.

PATTAYA-May 6, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News];- at 13.00 revealed that reporter had surveyed a south Pattaya canal which was ordered the buildings that have been built over and in the canal to be dismantled. Dr. Weerawat Khakhai and his team had carried out the work in 10 days.

 

Dr.Weerawat Khakhai revealed that they had performed the work in 10 days and had succeeded in completing about 50% of the work. They hoped to expand the canal by 20 meters around Tony and Blue house.

In addition the officers will investigate the locals who have overlapped and if they carry on ignoring the law they will be sued. Pattaya mayor asked for collaboration from the people who live around the canal not to throw rubbish or big objects into the canal because it will obstruct the water trying to drain. People should put their rubbish into a bin and if they see anyone throwing rubbish into the canal they should contact the police immediately.
