Recently, Police Colonel Nopadol Wongnom issued a statement that Pattaya Police had conducted an operation in the Soi Khao Noi area, Sukhumvit Road, Moo 10, Banglamung against suspected drug activity. He directed Police Captain Wootipong Tapsand and his police team to investigate the drug activity. Police had obtained information that a dealer would deliver illicit drugs to customers at the beginning of the soi.

Police observed a Thai man approaching on a motorbike and promptly apprehended him. The motorbike driver, Mr. Surasak Boomachai (32), address 91/1 Moo 5, Knagleu, Banglamung, is the son of Mr. Sanit Boomachai, a Pattaya City official. Mr. Surasak admitted that he had, previously, sold drugs throughout the area of Plutaleung, Sattahip. However, it was becoming difficult to ply his trade in the Sattahiip area, so he moved his operation to Pattaya, where his father is a city official. He claimed that his father had no idea what he was up to.

After further investigation, police also arrested Mr. Kachen Yenjai (37), residing at 13/65 Moo 5, Nongprue, Banglamung; and his wife, Miss Sila Paisan, nickname Oil (30), from Galasin Province. They confiscated 110 Yah Bah tablets from the couple as they were riding a motorbike on Soi Khao Noi, Central Pattaya.

Police also nabbed Mr. Saichon Panich (38), a volunteer policeman, from Plutaloung, who lives at 40/163 Moo 6, Sattahip. He was caught while hiding in the Lamchabang area, Sriracha. He was caught with 400 Yah Bah tablets, a Thai made no. 12 shotgun with six bullets and a Mitsubishi truck, license 8p-2921. Police Colonel Nopadol Wongnom, Superintendent of Pattaya, paraded the suspects for the media and made a statement that, in advance of the national election, security procedures will be tightened up. All suspects will have to face the full force of the law.
