Soldiers and Police Raid Village In Pattaya

Soldiers and police officers have raided a village in Pattaya to search for drugs and illegal items ordered by the NCPO. Unfortunately the people on the blacklist had been tipped off and had fled the village prior to the raid.

PATTAYA – July 16, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News];- at 05.00 am the reporters revealed that Mr.Sakchai Tang-Ho-chief district of Bang Lamng-with administrative officers, Pol.Col.Kampol Leelaprapaporn-superintendent of Huay Yai police station- with police officers, Capt.Adisak Buathong, soldiers and public health officers had raided and inspected Toong Lahan village near Pattaya, Bang Lamung to clamp down on vices and drugs.

The officers had divided in to 3 teams to surround and inspect 700 houses and 1,700 villagers. Upon inspecting the first group of villagers the officers found that Mr Wisit Kerdthong a 58 year old ex-village headman had a 9 mm. pistol with 50 bullets, a lot of gambling dices and some porn movies therefore they confiscated all the items. Initially Mr Wisit claimed that the pistol was his and it was registered but the dices and porn movies belonged to his son-in law.

 

The second group of officers had inspected the target house but they didn’t find the owner and they didn’t find any illegal items either.

While the third group of officers had randomly inspected 8 men who were found to have drugs and 3 of them confessed to being drug addicts. Also they had inspected Mr Sompong Boonmee aged 45 who had a lot of reserve animals and the officers found a loan contract book which contained a lot of customers, and a 9 mm pistol with ammunition. The officers also confiscated 1 classic motorbike. Initially Mr Sompong claimed that the pistol was legally registered and his son was the owner of the motorbike and he had permission for the reserve animals. He added that the loan contracts were old ones and he hadn’t loaned money for a long time.

 

In addition they didn’t found any wrongdoings or illegal items, they just found some drugs addicts. However the target group which were on a blacklist had disappeared from the village. The officers called their relatives who claimed that they had gone to up-country. It’s expected that they were tipped off.
