Snooker a Deadly Game for Shooting Victim

A 42-year-old owner of tapioca field was killed outside a Huay Yai grocery store by an unknown gunman. The grocery store owner said she heard the victim arguing with someone outside her store before he was shot. Police suspect the killing stemmed from a dispute at a snooker game.

PATTAYA – November 13, 2012 [Pattaya Daily News];  at 10 p.m.a report of a fatal shooting in front of a snooker table was received by police at the Huay Yai police station, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province.

The incident occurred at the merchandising club and industry of consumer goods, address 137/3 located in Chark Ngaew market Moo 10 Tambon Huay Yai, Amphur Banglamung. At the scene, police found many local residents looking at the corpse of Mr. Somkuan or Tee Lek Pinyosiriphan, age 42, the owner of a Tapioca field.

Police inspected the victim’s body and found he had been shot with a 9 mm. gun in the head, neck, right arm and right armpit. Nearby the body, police found a snooker stick and a can of beer. They also found six 9 mm. bullet shells. Another two bullets were lodged in the corpse, which the police later kept for evidence.

Police questioned the owner of the grocery store and snooker table, identified as Mrs. Pornpan Chokvichaicharn, age 57. She told police that while she was sitting in the shop, the victim came in to buy cigarettes. After he walked out from the shop, she heard him quarreling violently with a teenager outside. Then she heard the sounds of gunshots being fired many times. When she went out to check, she saw that the victim was shot until he died.

From questioning witnesses, Huay Yai police indicated that they learned the name of the suspect and will follow up to arrest and prosecute him according to the law. For the cause of the shooting, police suspect it may have resulted from a dispute at the snooker table.
