Side Stand Causes Motorbike to Crash

A man who was attempting to overtake a car on his motorbike lost control and crashed. He had left the side stand down which dug into the road causing him to crash.

PATTAYA – May 24,2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 9.30 p.m Sawang Boriboon Tharmma Satharn Rescue Foundation, Pattaya city, Chon Buri province, were notified that there had been an accident involving a motorbike and the rider was severely injured. The incident occurred on Thappraya Road, in front of Pan Pan restaurant, Moo 12 Tambon Nong Prue, Amphur Banglamung, Chon Buri province, so the rescue team rushed to the scene.

 

At the scene the rescuers found an injured man identified as Mr. Noppharat Ko-boon-rod, aged 34. He had split his head open and had lots of scratches all over his body. The rescuers performed first aid on him before they sent him to Banglamung hospital.

 

Upon questioning an eyewitnesses the officers perceived that before incident occurred Mr. Noppharat (victim) was riding along Jomtien 2nd road heading towards Bali Hai Cape but he hadn’t put up the side stand so when he went to overtake a car it caught the ground causing him to lose control and crash. The officers would like to warn people to take extra care when riding motorcycles by making sure the side stand is up before riding away.
